Good thing from this week
Happy Friday y'all!
I hope your week has been full of hot coffee, kitty cuddles, productivity, and preferably a pumpkin patch or at least some Hocus-Pocus-watching. I hit up the local pumpkin patch with girlfriends this week for the required basic B Fall photo shoot, and am heading to Trader Joe's this weekend to grab all the mini pumpkins and gourds for decor (PSA: TJ's has the very best, for crazy cheap!)
Fall-goodness aside, I was reminded this week the importance of slowing down. I've caught myself responding lately to "how are you?" with "busy!" How often do you do the same? Instead, because we're all busy, and that isn't a badge of honor, I've been saying "I'm good- lots going on, but trying to slow down and be more intentional!" It feels better, and it's true. I'm trying.
For me, that looks like ONE tab open, ONE task at a time while working, giving myself 15-minute breaks between shifting to another job task, and intentionally making simple sensory observations throughout the day...the feel of my cushy bathrobe, the smell of a hot cup of coffee, the feel of my kitten's fur, and the sounds of birds outside while I work. Sensory observations are one of the most effective ways to be mindful, in my experience, and you can stop, drop and do this anytime throughout your day.

This book (what's been giving me the idea of slowing down and quitting multitasking, btw!) has been making me eager to crawl into bed each night...and I've ripped through almost all of it in under a week.
Need a new show? Modern Love, with Tina Fey, Anne Hathaway, Adam Scott (Hot Priest!) and basically everyone is on Amazon Prime, and super good to binge this weekend.
Stocking up on these for our upcoming L.A. trip. They're addictive and soy and gluten free, high-protein, vegan...what more could you want?
